At Richards/Lerma, social media strategists drive the culture of our clients’ brands. They connect those brands to a passionate base of fans and persistently identify opportunities to enrich those connections. They’re curious about the audience and the culture around a brand, and they inhabit the world of that brand’s biggest fans. In doing so, they work to tell deeper and stronger brand stories, over time and in many forms, by leading the brand voice in day-to-day social media activities. They’re extremely resourceful creators and curators of content, multitalented in their skill set: writing, photography, videography, analytics – nothing is off the table for our social media strategists. They are a key part of the team and principal owners of social channel/experience design, branded content strategies, content calendars, and day-to-day social execution.


  • Champion a vision, based on insight, for brands in the digital and social media space
  • Lead the creation, in collaboration with the creative and brand management teams, of rich digital and social content to engage a brand’s target audience across media, platforms, and channels
  • Execute comprehensive, relevant, and engaging social strategies for our clients, ensuring the alignment of business, brand, and marketing/promotions
  • Manage content creation and day-to-day social media efforts for clients, including overseeing paid approach and some organic content on brands’ social channels
  • Identify and grow relationships with influencers, activating them on behalf of our clients
  • Partner with cross-disciplinary teams on integrated campaign strategies and integration into other key digital assets and channels
  • Help drive innovation and education on the latest social media developments, including changes, new social platforms, tools, partners, and resources
  • Help create social measurement plans and formulas for calculating the impact of social campaigns, and develop reporting dashboards using social listening and other measurement tools (e.g., Crimson Hexagon, Cubeyou, Meltwater, Union Metrics)
  • Responsible for developing reports on highlights on the social media channels and conversations on a biweekly, monthly, quarterly, and per-major-campaign basis.


  • Bachelor’s degree in advertising, strategic communications, or marketing-related field preferred
  • Three to five years of dedicated social media experience at a digital, advertising, or public relations agency
  • Experience with influencer programs
  • Proven success as a client contact on strategic social projects from inception through execution
  • Track record of setting, measuring, and achieving business goals through social and digital tactics
  • Strong understanding of business and brand-building through content production in social, video, content, and influencer experiences
  • Able to express complex ideas and experiences with a straightforward approach to inspire creative teams and clients
  • Experience educating clients on digital and social best practices
  • Sophisticated presentation skills with an acute attention to detail and ownership of projects and presentation decks
  • Experience with content marketing, data analysis and reporting, channel planning, social CRM, paid social campaigns and ad types, crisis communications, community governance, real-time marketing, social media ROI, collaborating with vendors and agency or client partners, and leveraging new and emerging tech
  • Experience with social media management tools such as Sprinklr and Sprout Social
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a must
